SofaCart Terms of Service
Effective date: August 26, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the SofaCart website, Chrome extension, and related services operated by the operator of SofaCart at sofacart.app (“SofaCart,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using SofaCart, you agree to these Terms.
The service
SofaCart helps you save recipes, remember what you already have, plan meals, and add grocery items to a cart on a supported retailer or delivery service. You review that cart and check out yourself. SofaCart does not place orders, complete checkout, or charge you for groceries.
Accounts
You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account. SofaCart may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms or that is used in a way that harms the service or other people.
Subscriptions and pricing
SofaCart offers two free weeks, with no card required. After the free trial, paid use is $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year. Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Taxes may apply. You may cancel a subscription to stop future renewal charges; fees already paid are not refunded except where required by law.
No checkout
SofaCart fills or proposes a grocery cart for you to review. Purchases, delivery, substitution, payment for groceries, and fulfillment are solely between you and the retailer or delivery service. Those third parties have their own terms. SofaCart is not a party to your grocery purchase and is not responsible for retailer pricing, availability, delivery, or food safety.
Retailer sites and the extension
SofaCart’s Chrome extension is an assistive tool you start. When you begin a readiness check or cart fill, you authorize SofaCart to read bounded content from the grocery tab you already have open (including product names, prices, links, and a screenshot of the visible tab), send that information to our processors so we can recommend or add a product, and inject short-lived page helpers in that tab. SofaCart does not run unattended, does not check out, and does not bypass CAPTCHAs, login walls, or other technical access controls.
You must have the right to use that retailer site and you stay responsible for complying with its terms. SofaCart is not affiliated with Uber, Instacart, DoorDash, Kroger, Ralphs, or other retailers unless we say so in writing. Those companies may limit or block assistive tools. We may disable a retailer integration if we believe it creates legal or operational risk.
Allergen, nutrition, and AI disclaimer
Meal plans, recipes, ingredient lists, pantry suggestions, and product matches may be generated or assisted by artificial intelligence and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date. SofaCart does not guarantee that suggestions are safe for any allergy, dietary restriction, medical condition, or nutrition goal. You are responsible for reading retailer and product labels and for deciding what you buy and eat. SofaCart does not provide medical, nutrition, or allergen advice.
Acceptable use
You may use SofaCart only for lawful personal grocery planning. You may not misuse the service, attempt to access other people’s accounts or data, or interfere with the service. You may not use SofaCart for unattended bulk automation, to access a retailer account that is not yours, or to circumvent a retailer’s security or access controls.
Disclaimers
SofaCart is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that generated content will meet your needs.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SofaCart is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for grocery purchases, allergens, or retailer acts. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid SofaCart in the twelve months before the claim, or ten dollars if you have not paid.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in California have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Changes
We may update these Terms as SofaCart changes. The effective date above will be revised when changes are published. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
